I have my high school teacher to blame—I mean, thank—for encouraging me to pursue a career as a writer. I wrote and illustrated a short story about a Hell's Angel with a heart of gold for his creative writing class. Unbeknownst to me, he circulated my story to his colleagues, and the rest is ancient history.

In 2011, I applied for a staff writer position at Yummy Mummy Club. As a new mom to a toddler, I was in the trenches anyway, so why not write about it? Erica Ehm called me up and personally offered me the job. I will never forget that phone call! For the next five years I shared my hot takes on current events with fellow floundering sleep-deprived parents.

Since then, my freelance work has appeared in the Washington Post, Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, Today's Parent, Huffington Post, and many more.

I have been interviewed on various TV and radio shows, including CTV's Canada AM, BBC Radio, CBC Radio, and HuffPost Live.
