I have my high school teacher to thank (and blame) for encouraging me to pursue a career as a writer. I wrote and illustrated a short story about a Hell's Angel with a heart of gold for his creative writing class. Unbeknownst to me, he circulated my story to his colleagues, and the rest is ancient history.
In 2011, I applied for a staff writer job at Yummy Mummy Club. As a new mom to a toddler, I was in the trenches anyway, so why not share my hot takes on current events with fellow floundering sleep-deprived parents? After reading a writing sample, Erica Ehm called me up and personally offered me the job. I will never forget that phone call!
Since then, my work has appeared in the Washington Post, Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, Today's Parent, Huffington Post, and many more. I have given interviews for various TV and radio shows, including CTV's Canada AM, BBC Radio, CBC Radio, and HuffPost Live. A selection of my published work can be found below.
