My son was diagnosed with autism when he was three. At the time, like a lot of people, my only point of reference came from watching the movie Rain Man. In the coming years, my little boy taught me more about autism than Dustin Hoffman ever could.

Then a strange thing happened. The more I learned about my son, the more I learned about myself. Ten years later, I was also diagnosed with autism. I was 44. For the first time the world made sense. 

I created The Autistic Mom to share some of the many things I’ve learned—and unlearned—along the way. I hope you’ll follow along."
